This combination is the most casual one we’ve posted. We have taken a gingham shirt with a little coloring in it, and paired it with the following items to make it the focal point of this summer look:
Tie- This tie is a good compromise of a pattern and a solid. It’s not overpowering the shirt, yet it has a little personality of it’s own.
Belt- A white belt can, and should only be worn in the spring and summer (much like most white shoes). This belt does a good job of breaking up the outfit with the white, and making it summery and casual.
Jeans- As mentioned before, jeans must be well-fitting and the proper wash for the outfit (dark jeans with little-to-no distress usually works perfectly). Otherwise, they detract from what’s going on above them and make you look like a slob. These jeans fit well and tie the shirt to the shoes.
Boat Shoes- When it’s hot outside, you may not feel like wearing shoes and socks. Boat shoes are a good compromise- you wear them without socks and do not make you look careless like flip flops could (and often do). These ones add some color as well which is very summer-approproate.
Watch- If at all possible, wear a watch with everything. They are a perfect, functional accessory and make a man look like he’s got things together. This one does a good job of complimenting everything that’s going on with this outfit.
